Speakers

Tom Grogan, PE, SE

Tom Grogan, PE, SE recently retired, is a structural engineer, formerly the Chief Structural Engineer and Director of Quality for Haskell of Jacksonville Florida for 18 years. During his 40 year career, he has been responsible for structural design of projects worldwide in numerous market segments: healthcare, government, education, parking, industrial, water/wastewater, aviation, and restoration. Tom establishes design procedures and standards; reviews work of engineers and designers; provides technical guidance to other Haskell civil/structural engineers; and recruits and trains structural engineering staff. Tom is involved in strategic, tactical and project execution aspects of all projects. He is a past president with NCSEA (National Council of Structural Engineering Associations) and FSEA (Florida Structural Engineering Association). Tom has been actively involved in SE Licensure authoring several articles and working with the Florida legislature and lobbyists to create an SE license in Florida. In addition, he works with ACE Mentoring in Northeast Florida currently serving as board chair and lead mentor at a local high school.

Perry Pinto, P.E.

Perry Pinto, P.E., is a Senior Engineer at a global, multi-disciplinary forensic engineering consulting firm, where he provides initial response, condition assessment, cause and origin determination, and forensic evaluation of structures damaged by natural disasters, collapses, fires, building envelop failures, and other large and complex losses. Prior to his endeavors in forensic engineering, Mr. Pinto worked in the power industry successfully contributing to the completion of complex structural projects for more than a decade. He specialized in the design and analysis of safety-related structures for nuclear generating facilities.



Bradley East, P.E.

Bradley East, P.E. is a Director of Operations for Polaris Forensics, Inc. Bradley has over 15 years of experience in forensic evaluations, concrete and materials testing and structural design. He specializes in concrete durability issues, structural analysis and failure analysis, and has considerable experience evaluating damage from construction deficiencies, design errors, and structural collapse, among other failure types. Bradley has testified as an expert for various matters and has an extensive list of industry publications and presentations.





Cody Walker

Cody Walker has worked in the construction and insurance industry his entire career. He is a Risk Consultant and Counsel at The Prewitt Group, a family owned and operated full-service insurance agency, serving the Birmingham area since 1974. Prior to joining the Prewitt Group, Cody worked as the Insurance & Risk Management Counsel for a large General Contractor in Birmingham.

During the course of his career, Cody has handled initial insurance claims, negotiated insurance terms, and has litigated insurance claims to final resolution. As a Risk Consultant and Counsel at the Prewitt group, Cody helps clients in the construction and engineering industry understand their unique insurance needs.
